HOW TO COOK IT?

Veal with tuna sauce with beef

Ingredients:

  • 600g thin slices of beef (e.g. sirloin or rump of veal)
  • 1 can of tuna in oil (about 160g), drained
  • 4 anchovy fillets in oil
  • 2 tablespoons capers, rinsed
  • 1 clove of garlic, peeled
  • 2 hard-boiled egg yolks
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 150ml of mayonnaise
  • 100ml of meat or vegetable broth
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper To Taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Capers in oil (for garnish)

Method:

  1. Preparing the meat: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Quickly brown the beef slices on both sides for about 1-2 minutes per side, until lightly browned but still pink on the inside. Transfer the beef slices to a plate and let them cool.
  2. Preparation of the tuna sauce: In a blender or food processor, add the drained tuna, anchovy fillets, capers, garlic clove, hard-boiled egg yolks, lemon juice and mayonnaise. Blend everything until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous sauce. Add salt and pepper to your taste.
  3. Assembly: Arrange the beef slices in a single layer on a serving platter. Pour the tuna sauce evenly over the beef slices, covering them completely.
