  2. Cutting tallow: If tallow is sold whole, cut it into smaller pieces to make it more manageable during preparation. You can cut it into cubes or strips, depending on what you will use it for later.
  3. Melting the tallow: Place the tallow pieces in a heatproof pot or saucepan and turn the stove to low or medium-low heat. The tallow will begin to slowly dissolve.
  4. Dissolving: Continue heating the tallow, stirring occasionally, until it has completely dissolved and you have a clear liquid. This process will take some time, so be patient and don't raise the temperature too much to avoid burning the tallow.
  5. Filtering: Once the tallow has completely dissolved, you can filter it to remove any residue or impurities. You can do this using a fine strainer or clean cheesecloth placed over a container. Pour the melted tallow through the strainer or cheesecloth to remove unwanted particles.
  6. Cooling and Storage: Once filtered, allow the melted tallow to cool to room temperature. Afterwards, you can store it in an airtight container or glass jars and store it in the refrigerator for later use.
